When, during last August, I moved to Sestri Levante area, I sent some emails to some ham firends who are members of ARI’s Sestri Levante section (italian amateur association) asking them what were the days in witch the section was opened.
Carlo IW1RIM replied to my email and told me the section was temporary closed because Torre Marconi (the location of the section) was damaged.
The location of Sestri Levante ARI’s section is a beautiful an historical place: it’s a tower on a promontory surrounded by the sea. The tower, called Marconi Tower (IY1TTM), is the place where in 1931 Marconi made some experiments with microwaves.
Yesterday I recieved a new mail from Carlo, he invited me to an ARI meeting scheduled for tomorrow night in a temporary location they found near Sestri Levante!
I’m really happy and curious to meet the section’s members; I’m sure I will meet very good people and very good operators and some good “elmers”, I hope to meet new friends with my same passion about radio.
ASAP a post about the meeting

Gabriele
